In the 10th episode of the fourth season of primetime show “HOUSE”, the famous doctor sends himself an iPhone i  order to get great gifts from the others for secret santa. He evens makes a reference to it’s maker and Apple CEO Steve Jobs while nicely holding out the phone for all to see.

Boston Legal went all nuts on the iphone. In a previous episode, Leigh is leaving Jeery over an iphone!!! In this 13th episode of the fourth season (S04E13), the iphone is used to show a tape of Leigh (haven’t watch all episode in order to get the context). Anyway, when I first saw this I though it was a spoof…. no, this is the real deal, as it appears on Boston Legal. Talk about product placement.

Wow, talk about a straightforward ad. Apple and Itunes had already reach an exclusive partnership promoting Idol on Itunes every so often in the show, but this time Ryan Seacrest really pitches the Iphone big time. Every week, 30 million votes are casted for the idol, what would that translate to in number of viewers?

During the Academie awards, watched by an estimated 300 million peope worlwide, the camera cut back to the host, John Stewart. He jokes about how he loves new  technology while watching Lawrence of Arabia on his iPhone. He continues by saying that to truly appreciate it, it is better in “widescreen” as he flips his iphone.

This blog is the place to be for sharing information, links and thoughts on the most ingenious iPhone product placement. I will be putting up 4 of them to start.

Personally, as a sales & marketing guy, Apple blows me away with the simplicity and effectiveness of their marketing. The way the buzz was started on the iPhone, and how it is now shown on various shows etc. just exemplifies the way of Apple.
